Screening and Testing Timeline
Below is an outline of the TAG testing process. Look for the bold, italicized, and underlined number to see where SBCE currently is in the testing process.
Fall Screening/Testing (August-November)
1. TAG teachers look at data for ALL students in the school
2. Students that meet the criteria to be tested have letters mailed home giving consent to test
3. TAG teachers pull students for approximately 6 days (about 45 minutes per day) to test them.
4. Tests are scored (some by TAG teachers and others are mailed away to be scored)
5. The TAG Eligibility Team (TAG teachers + several homeroom teachers) meets to look at all testing data and prepare letters to mail to parents to inform them if their child is eligible to start receiving TAG services
6. TAG teachers wait for IOWA scores to be released by the county, plug in that data to 3rd and 5th grade; prepare eligibility letters for 3rd and 5th
7. Letters for all students tested during the Fall Testing Window are sent home
8. Eligible students begin attending TAG classes at the beginning of the 2nd unit in November/December

TAG Screening/Testing Procedures
All students are screened for eligibility for TAG testing twice a year, every year. Students are screened using criteria specified by the FCS TAG Department. For more information about the Fulton County TAG Program, click here.
